Open Source License and FAQ
CVC is licensed as open source software using a modified Perl style artistic license. It can be used without payment for electronic design. It can also be used for forking off either traditional free software or commercial projects. OSS CVC is licensed using an artistic license because it needs to comply with the IEEE 2005 1364 standard and because Tachyon Design Automation sells enterprise support that requires genuine pre made binaries and support for OSS CVC.
